Electric cars are fast but silent while they are certainly causing a big change in the Indian car market. The latest crop of new electric cars is coming in all shapes and sizes while giving new options for buyers. These new ones though are in the luxury space but come with extreme design or power while giving buyers something more in this space.

MG Cyberster
The doors of the Cyberster wow you at first and the drama level is high here. You walk up to this sports car and it is low plus wide. The stance is pure classic roadster and like the old MG sports cars. The sharp headlamps and the tight proportions are perfect for a head-turner. The Cyberster has people opening their camera phones to take a pic and looks fantastic with its presence being the best part. You can drop the roof or turn it up in a few seconds to save yourself from a sudden downpour. Getting in could be a bit tight for taller drivers but inside, the quality is high and the doors close/open automatically via a button. The design of the cockpit is busy but well packed with tons of technology. Space is not huge though but again this is a sports car and you can forgive it. The Cyberster feels shockingly fast also as its motors bring in a lot of silent power which rockets forward. While we miss the sports car like sound since it is electric, the performance and is a highlight while not seen elsewhere at this price. Speaking of which, the Cyberster is a bargain for what you get since nothing else can match the looks or the performance at this price. The pace is shocking and the handling is secure with plenty of fun being served for the driver. It puts down its power well and around corners, it can take plenty of speed in here with a direct steering which further gives it confidence. Overall, the Cyberster is a sports car that you can use every day or even just stare at it with the doors high up and soaking in the attention it gets. A proper head-turner at a midsize luxury SUV price- what more can one want?

Volvo EX30
The smallest Volvo will open the luxury carmaker to its youngest set of buyers and would be its smallest car but it packs a punch nevertheless. The EX30 is a purpose-built electric luxury SUV with clever thinking and a lot of power being crammed into its compact but sleek body. The EX30 looks fresh, is modern and comes packed with a lot of styling cues plucked from the flagship Volvos. However, the EX30 has its own personality and has a youthful vibe. The design comes with interesting styling cues with the blanked off grille as well as those massive 19-inch wheels which fill up the arches well. The design has muscle but not in an old school way. Inside, it is bold and too radical we would say with a sustainable interior but with very few buttons. Like a Tesla you need a card to get in and not a normal key but inside, it is different with no digital cluster at all. The driver must look at the central screen and that needs getting used to. The main screen is slick though and is easy to use but too much is being put in here including to use the mirrors or even functions like the glovebox. The quality is high though and it feels special here with a futuristic look. Space however is tight and you would squeeze in two of your friends at the back only. On the move, the EX30 is fast and immediately races to triple digit speeds with ease. It is sure footed, quick, and light on its feet which makes using this car easy but even the range is decent considering the big battery pack The EX30 is on the sporty side though and has a firm ride quality but again is made for younger buyers looking for something fun while being different too.
