How would you define yourself?
I would define myself as a confident person who looks at life positively. I push myself to handle difficult situations and I am self-motivated. My way of looking at life is very clear; sometimes things go as planned and sometimes they do not. I weigh the pros and cons of every decision I make, and then reflect upon my decision and just go with the flow.
First thing you do when you wake up?
The very first thing I do when I wake up is search for my phone, check my messages on social media and then check the weather report of the day. I hit the gym sometimes but these days I rush to my shoots immediately.
Last thing you do before you sleep?
I am a very spiritual person and pray to god before I sleep. I thank him for a beautiful day and pray for the following day to be even more beautiful.
Your perfect holiday destination?
My perfect holiday destination would be Dubai. I just love that place and love to shop there. In India my favorite holiday destination is Kolkata, my home city. The very first thing I do when I go to Kolkata is eat puchkas; nothing can match the taste of true Kolkata puchkas. Another favourite place for a holiday would be Mumbai, because I have many friends there and we do a lot of shopping. We also go to Darjeeling for trekking and adventure activities.
If you were chilling all alone, you would?
Well, I chill alone a lot. I order my favorite snack, salmon with mashed potatoes, and a glass of wine, and generally reflect upon my life. I just love being by myself, and having my own time to listen to my favorite music, re-read a few short stories (which I used to read back in school) and a few biographies of inspirational women. Basically, I would do everything to ensure my mind is at peace.
Brands you swear by?
When it comes to perfumes, I swear by Prada, Chanel and Good Girl. For my western clothing I stick to Zara, Chanel, Prada and Gucci. For shoes, it’s always Jimmy Choo and Charles and Keith, and for Indian clothing I prefer Sabyasachi and Falguni Shane Peacock.
Your definition of fun?
My definition of fun is chilling with friends.
What can we see you in next?
My come back movie after Bigg Boss is Aleka — it is something which is really close to my heart. I got so connected to the movie that I didn’t have to use glycerin during emotional scenes. Aleka has been a roller coaster ride for me — full of drama and emotions and I have given it my best. I am eagerly waiting for promotions to start.
Your take away from ‘Bigg Boss’?
The three and half months at Bigg Boss were the best days of my life which can never be forgotten; it was a world of magic for me. I miss the friendship between Yashika, Mahat and I. We wish those days could come back but sadly they cannot. Through all the fun and the fights, we have had utmost respect for each other and are still in touch. Earlier people used to know me by the Tamil movies I have acted in but after Bigg Boss they know me as Bigg Boss Aishwarya.
What do you define as #GirlPower?
Girls are not less than boys. Most girls are now educated and can earn their own livelihood. Everyone should learn to stand on their own legs. Every girl should fight for her own rights and should not be anyone’s puppet. Girls should be strong enough to speak up for what is wrong and what is right. They shouldn’t fear anything in life and should learn from their experiences. Go Girl Power!
