When the Sukumars approached us to design their dream house, we were excited, their briefing was to have a grand house that reflected their status. We went through many design styles and they picked a simple modernistic style bearing a pure white theme with no frills. Sukumar is into multiple businesses that include running a hospital, media house, construction company, share trading and more.
Spread over a sprawling 22,000 sq.ft., Jiglic Vista was designed to be a space that truly reflected the aspirations of its owners. A space that embodies the essence of family, heritage, and achievement. This three-level house is more than a residence; it’s a living testament to a closely-knit joint family’s rise from humble beginnings to a life of warmth and luxury.
Celebrating togetherness
With their fondness for entertaining, the ground floor is a celebration of hospitality. Friends and visitors are greeted with an open, inclusive space designed for mingling, laughter, and memories. Every corner exudes warmth, encouraging connection and togetherness.
An intimate retreat
Move a level up to the first floor and it opens out into an intimate retreat for relatives. This space is crafted for bonding, with modern, thoughtfully chosen décor that mirrors the family’s contemporary values. It’s a place where connections are deepened, and family moments are cherished.
Personal comfort zone
The second floor features the master bedroom with an unparalleled sense of privacy and familial bliss. Designed almost like a home within a home, it features a private TV area, a serene green court, and ample space for children to sleep nearby. This room captures the perfect blend of love and comfort, offering both luxury and warmth.
The Divine Pooja Room
At the spiritual heart of the Sukumar residence lies the pooja room — a space of divine tranquility. Bathed in natural light from a skylight above, this sacred area radiates peace. The nearby staircase, flanked by lush green courts, provides a seamless connection to nature, enhancing the sense of serenity.
A Surprise Gem: The Indoor Pool
Perhaps the most unexpected and delightful feature of the home is the indoor swimming pool, a true jewel nestled at the center of the residence. The deck surrounding the pool serves as a gathering place where the family’s life revolves. It’s a space where celebrations with friends and family come to life, offering both privacy and a refreshing open-air feel, thanks to its integration with the surrounding greenery.
Nature Integrated at Every Corner
Throughout the house, nature weaves its way into every room and even the washrooms, creating an organic connection to the outdoors. The home’s landscape design seamlessly blends indoors and outdoors, allowing natural light and air to flow freely through every space.
A Living Tribute to Heritage: The Sunken Living Room
In this house, the past is never far away. The sunken living room, adorned with a gallery wall that tells the Sukumar family’s history, is a poignant reminder of their rich heritage. This cozy nook is a treasure trove of memories, ensuring the family’s traditions are celebrated and passed on to future generations.
The Sunset Retreat: Terrace and Gazebo
As day turns to dusk, the terrace beckons with its inviting gazebo and vibrant planter boxes. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, share stories, and enjoy the cool evening breeze under the stars.
Pergolas, Skylights, and the Breath of Life
The architectural design of the Sukumar home allows it to breathe with life. Dynamic pergolas seamlessly integrate the indoors with the outdoors, while skylights invite divine light to flood the interiors. The pooja room, in particular, is bathed in celestial light, elevating the spiritual atmosphere of the space.
A Home Rooted in Love and Legacy
The Sukumar residence is more than just a luxurious dwelling; it’s a sanctuary that celebrates family, tradition, and growth. It stands as a reflection of the family’s journey—rooted in their past, alive in the present, and poised for a promising future.
