Skin ageing is often understood through the lens of genetics, skincare routines and the visible signs of ageing. However, science increasingly points towards a much larger influence: the exposome – the cumulative impact of everything we are exposed to through our environment, lifestyle and everyday choices, and how these factors influence our skin over time.

Bringing this science into the consumer conversation, CHOSEN by Dermatology hosted Know Your Exposome, an immersive consumer conclave at Bangalore International Club, Bengaluru, bringing together close to 150 consumers, medical experts and members of the CHOSEN community. The objective was to take dermatological education beyond the clinic and make complex science accessible, engaging and relevant to everyday life. Exposome science lies at the heart of CHOSEN’s philosophy of skin longevity. The brand believes that understanding how skin ages requires looking beyond topical skincare to the cumulative influence of environmental aggressors, pollution, UV exposure, stress, sleep, nutrition and lifestyle. This understanding informs CHOSEN’s approach to developing a holistic inside out approach to skin longevity.

Headlined by CHOSEN founder Dr. Renita Rajan, the conclave featured a keynote address exploring the science of exposome, alongside a reflection on the CHOSEN journey and its growing community. The event also brought together chief guests Dr. Miki Singh, Anuj Chhajer and Pradnya Surve, with RJ Sanobar as the host and emcee.

An expert panel discussion explored the different dimensions of the exposome, their influence on skin health and ageing, and challenged common misconceptions around skincare, lifestyle and skin longevity. The conversations encouraged consumers to rethink conventional approaches to anti-ageing and understand the importance of making informed choices that support skin health over the long term.

Moving beyond conventional conference formats, Know Your Exposome brought science to life through interactive games, activities and opportunities for consumers to engage directly with experts. A dedicated CHOSEN experience zone also allowed attendees to discover and experience the brand’s pioneering first-and-only product innovations, while understanding the science and philosophy behind them.

The conclave was an expression of the brand’s larger philosophy: that skin longevity begins with understanding your exposome.
