Daughter of actor Suniel Shetty and Mana Shetty, Athiya Shetty looked surreal in a pastel bridal lehenga as she tied the knot with cricketer and Vice-Captain of the Indian cricket team KL Rahul who hails from Bangalore, at their farmhouse in Khandala. We met up with the romantic duo a few weeks before their wedding at a store launch in Bangalore. Here’s a quick candid chat with the cute couple who got hitched after dating for four years and are giving us couple goals. Athiya on her journey in her own words…
Fitness Journey:
I’m a fitness freak, although my fitness journey began a little late. I’m more into being healthy than only focusing on fitness. I work out four to five times a week and do a mix of weight training, yoga and pilates.
Work:
I have signed a project that will be announced shortly. (The news is that she will soon appear in a lead role in footballer Afshan Ashiq’s biopic film, Hope Solo). – She was last seen in Hero, Motichoor Chaknachoor with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and was also part of Mubarakan with Arjun Kapoor.
South Indian movies:
I’m not doing working on any projects in the south, but would love to do.
Family and growing up days:
I had a very normal childhood. I feel blessed that my parents gave me a normal childhood and we have always been a close knit family. My parents have always been very caring and loving, not only towards their family but towards all the people in general and have always respected other people at all times. I have learnt to be humble from them.
How did movies happen:
I always knew I wanted to do something creative. Movies just happened as I always loved theatre and drama and I loved creative things, so I decided to work in the film industry.
Bangalore:
I love the energy of Bangalore and I love how beautiful and clean this city is. I have grown up in Bombay where there’s always a hustle bustle. I like the balance here whenever I come.
Define a perfect holiday:
A perfect holiday for me is one where my entire family can be together.
