Pikes Peak is the sportiest version of the Multistrada line-up. At Rs. 31.38 lakh, the Pikes Peak edition is Rs.7.33 lakh costlier than the V4 S. The bike sits on 17-inch rims loaded with stickier rubber, gets electronically adjustable Ohlins suspension, a single-sided swingarm and a new ‘Race’ riding mode. It gets a single-sided swing arm and it certainly adds to the visual appeal of the bike. Ultraviolette F77 to cover 307 KM on single charge

Ultraviolette hosted its first Battery Day event, where they announced an industry-leading IDC range of 307 km on a single charge on the top-end variant of the F77. The bike comes with a 2.5X higher battery capacity, compared to the existing EV 2Ws in India. The F77 has completed rigorous in-house testing, including extensive simulation, dyno and on-road testing, power cycling, and extreme off-road testing. The F77’s battery has also been put through accelerated aging and thermal stress tests. Unlike the removable battery packs that we’d seen on the initial prototype in 2019, the new battery pack is fixed, larger and packs more lithium-ion cells. The production-spec F77 will have three ride modes and riders can choose between different levels of regen, to suit their riding style. The pre-bookings for the F77 are open from 23rd of October for Rs. 10,000/- and the official launch will happen on the 24th of November.

The OG SUV: Scorpio Classic

People still want that tough appeal with the Scorpio and that is why Mahindra has retained the Scorpio Classic. The Classic retains the same iconic design on the outside but with few changes like redesigned bumpers and a grille with chunky chrome strips and the new twin-peaks logo. Headlight units are still halogen and the 17” alloys get a refresh. At the rear, you get a Classic badging as well. Step in and you are greeted with a flat and upright dashboard and high seating position. New bits include a faux-wood panel on the centre-console and a new 9.0-inch Android-based touchscreen. The rear bench is spacious enough for three with a great view upfront. The Scorpio is available in jump seat and 7-seat variants. However the third row space isn’t great for the 7-seat variant and the jump seat variant lacks basic safety features like seatbelts.

The biggest difference comes under the hood with the new 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine which makes 130hp and 300Nm mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The new engine is smoother and more refined and you thoroughly enjoy driving the Classic. The beauty of this machine is how well it can tackle bad roads. You still bounce around in the cabin, and there is a good amount of side-to-side movement as well, but the comfort has marginally increased. The Scorpio Classic is available in two variants only – S and S11 – with prices starting from Rs 11.99 lakh.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is The Offroad Gladiator!

While we do have a bunch of legendary SUVs, the Wrangler Rubicon is undoubtedly a legend because of its ability to tackle off-road conditions. This is the ‘Made in India’ version which is actually cheaper by Rs. 10-11 lakh, which is quite a big marginal benefit for the customers. The Wrangler is available in two variants: Unlimited and Rubicon, while the latter is the more extreme version with a higher ground clearance and better approach, ramp and breakover angles. The Wrangler carries the iconic design language which boasts of a raw offroad ready character and bucket loads of road presence.

Under the hood is the 2-litre turbo petrol motor which churns out 268bhp of max power and a whopping 400Nm of torque mated to a smooth 8-speed torque converter gearbox. It is actually surprising how fast the Rubicon accelerates from standstill being a 2-tonne mammoth. But, the Rubicon isn’t meant for highway cruising. It feels at home while tackling slush and steep terrains. It amazes you how effortless the Wrangler can tackle tough terrains. It gets electronically locking front and rear differentials and also can electronically disconnect the anti-roll bar (swaybar) for even more axle articulation.

Comes with a three piece removable hardtop which literally makes the Wrangler an open top SUV. The Wrangler has less room on the inside, but who cares. This machine is purpose built and meant to take you anywhere. When it comes to off-roading, the Wrangler is literally the ultimate offroader. Period.
