Some homes are appealing to the eyes the moment you enter and yet are cozy and comfortable too. This one also won our heart for its modern and contemporary yet quirky, cute, fun and fresh interiors, the moment we stepped in. Let’s walk you through the first look of this welcoming abode.
This beautifully done villa in Bangalore (Bellezea by Nambiar Builders) is owned by Bhavya and her husband Rajesh. Bhavya being a designer, always wanted to build a “Modern Country style” home inspired by British colonial architecture. When you enter this space you instantly get transported to a plush home somewhere in the UK. You won’t feel like you are here in Bangalore. The space has a homely and welcoming vibe with lots of whites and a pastel colour palette along with a touch of gold.
The predominant theme that runs across the home is shabby- chic country style white painted furniture, tongue and groove beadboard and wainscot walls, all in white balanced by solid wood elements to add warmth. Adding to the beautifully done aesthetics are the crystal chandeliers in every room and wallpapered walls. There is an element of authentic stained glass wherever you see. All doors in the house have arched stained glass panels that add so much interest to the space also makes it light and airy.
The lovely stained glass double doors built of solid wood welcomes you as you enter the foyer. If you are looking for understated elegance for your home with the charm of country style, you must definitely take a look at Live.Laugh.Love interior design based out of Bangalore.
Bhavya Rajesh, founder of Live. Laugh. Love says, “Styling a space is not frivolous, it’s not an extra. It’s the element that brings soul to a space. Design elements need to be balanced in a space to bring harmony, where you feel the vibe it’s trying to convey and that’s exactly what Live.Laugh.Love offers.”
“We let our clients tell their story in the space that they are trying to create. It’s their story, not ours but we help them bring that story out beautifully,” says Bhavya. The functionality and the client’s intent is at the heart of it all. The designs are built keeping in mind the lifestyle of the family, so it brings ease of use in every element.
They take up turnkey projects starting from concepts, designs to execution and styling. “It is made possible with our partnership with Barebase founded by Harish Padmanabhan known for their impeccable execution process,” says Bhavya.
An all-white country kitchen is the heart of the home with a lovely island and views to the garden. “I always wanted a white kitchen and the white kitchen has a sophistication that has no match,” says Bhavya. “We used solid wood to build cabinets with corniches and duco painted white to achieve the results.”
Coupled with eye-catching aesthetics, minute level of functional attention is paid to design a seamlessly functional kitchen with wall mounted appliances, smaller details like spice rack units, glass crockery cabinets and tall pantry unit making the kitchen perfectly user friendly yet elegant.
Every nook and corner has a unique element and every room has something special in terms of design or elements used. However the most unique parts of this country home is the conservatory or the sunroom which extends from the dining area and a very pretty garden. Having lived in the UK and gotten used to a conservatory home, Bhavya says this is a perfect addition for Indian homes for all seasons. Idea is to make the space boundaryless, making it outside-in feel. Oh by the way, you will notice my kitty “Lilly” in the frame as even she has an eye for details.
The eye catching custom made fireplace, the wooden trusses and stand-alone pillar and the run down brick wall gives you an experience of English country and you feel relaxed and comfy the moment you enter the living space.
Once you land upstairs you will be pleasantly surprised with the grey pallette which welcomes to the second living room.
The master bedroom is done up in blush and deep emerald green pallette with a lovely poster bed
